FlexMail has a powerful queueing mechanism that you can use to select records from your datasheet for printing. Basically, you mark all or any selection of records that you want to print for printing by adding them to the print queue. When a record has been printed, the status of that record will be changed to Printed or, when an error occurred, to Error. This mechanism makes it easy to stop a print job and restart at the last printed record or make reprints of records that were not printed due to an error.
For easy to use, you have two choices when printing your project:
If you do not queue any records and start printing, FlexMail will print all records in your datasheet.
If you use queueing and one or more records are queued, FlexMail will only print the queued records.
When you start printing, you can review the range of records that will be printed in the Print Range group on the Print dialog that appears before printing.
This article explains how to work with the queue. In this article:
If you want to print a selection of records you have to add the records you want to print to the print queue. To do so:
Click Add in the Queue group on the Print tab.
In the menu that pops-up, select one of the following:
Queue All. If you select this option, all records in the datasheet will be queued, independent of their currect status (e.g. also records with a Printed status will be queued again for printing).
Queue Remaining. All records with no status will be queued. All records that already have a status (Queued, Printed, Error) will be untouched.
Queue Selected. The selection of records you have made in the datasheet will be queued, independent of their current status.
Queue Range. When you select this option, the Queue Range window will appear, where you can select a range to be added to the queue.
Queue Error. All records with an Error status will be (re-)queued.
Queue Unverified. All records with an Unverified status will be (re-)queued.
After you have made your choice, the selected rows will be marked with a green arrow, indicating they are queued for printing.
NOTE: When you right-click in the column with row headers at the left side of your screen, a subset of the Add Queue menu will pop-up that you can use to add records to the queue.
You can use the Clear command to remove any status from a single or selection of records. To remove the status:
Click Add in the Queue group on the Print tab.
In the menu that pops-up, select one of the following:
Clear All. If you select this option, the status all records in the datasheet will be cleared.
Clear Selected. The status of the selection of records you have made in the datasheet will be cleared.
Clear Range. When you select this option, the Clear Range window will appear, where you can select a range to be cleared.
After you have made your choice, the status of the selected rows will cleared and all visible marks will be removed.
You can use the status of the records to quickly move through the print queue. You can for instance jump to the last printed record and resume printing from there or you can locate printing errors. To do so:
Click Go To in the Queue group on the Print tab.
In the menu that pops-up, select one of the following:
Go to last printed record. The selection in the Datasheet will be moved to the last record in the file with the Printed status.
Go to Next Error. Use this command to locate the next record with an Error status after printing.
At any moment you want, you can get infoamtion about the (queing) status of all the records in your project. To get the current status:
Click Info in the Queue group on the Print tab.
The Queue info window opens showing you the total number of records in the project and a count of the number of records for each of the status values.
