Field links make a connection between a field in the source file and a field in the destination file so that FlexMail can copy the values of the records in the source file to the correct positions in the records in the destination file.
The left column of the list box displays all the fields in the destination file. Each additional column represents one of the source files you have selected.
To define the field links:
In one of the columns representing a source file, click on the row with the field in the destination file you want to link to.
Expand the list with the fields contained in the source file and select the field that you want to link to the field in the destination file or click <none> to unlink it.
Repeat step 1 and 2 until all the fields you want FlexMail to copy to the destination file are linked.
Notes:
When the Define Field Links dialog is displayed the first time after you have selected the source files, FlexMail will guess the field links for you by comparing the field names in the source and destination files.
In the column with the destination fields, the fields that are not part of the database but were created using one of the Flexmail functions (e.g. a counter) are displayed in italic. When you link a source field to such a destination field, it will only be for the possible use in a match code. The field will not be copied to the destination file.
