Although it is not a database, FlexMail is capable of opening multi-page PDF-files. For this file type FlexMail will display the pages in the designer and one record per page with the file name and the page number in the Datasheet.
To link a PDF-file:
On the Datasources tab, in the Link External Data group, click PDF.
In the Link Data dialog box, in the File name box, specify the name of the PDF-file.
Click Open.
If the selected page size is different from the page size of the pages in the loaded PDF-file a window will be shown where you can make one of the following choices:
Use FlexMail page size. When you use the currently selected page size in Flexmail, the loaded PDF pages will be placed in the top left corrner of the pages in the Designer. If the loaded page is larger than the page in the Designer, any contents that does not fit will be clipped on the right and bottom sides.
Use PDF page size. If you use the page size as defined in te PDF file, the page in the designer will be resized to match the page size in the loaded PDF.
If the selected page size is the same as the page size of the pages in the loaded PDF-file the PDF file will be opened, the pages displayed and the datasheet filled.
NOTE: To move the PDF on the selected page, right-click on the page and select Move. Then move the page with the mouse to the desired position.
